You know we are Malaysians when everything is done at the last minute… restriction on outdoor
team sports were lifted on short notice, club SOP confirmed soon after, roll call made in the chat
group… and only 8 players as of the morning of September 11, 2021.
As usual, between 2-4pm, the list grew to 20 players! It was game on… and the beautiful blue skies
seem to agree with us on this sunny Saturday evening!

Thanks to the rapid vaccination rate in Klang valley in the last few months, the boys were fully
vaccinated, eager and ready to get back to some hockey action at Kiara Sports Annexe. Needless to
say, many of our guys had worked hard to remain fit during the MCO, as we have seen during the
#hockeyislife initiative and during the game today.
It’s really good to see everyone back in action!
Also, a huge thank you to the Sports Department and groundsmen who had maintained the field
immaculately during the MCO for our return to grass hockey.
And… looking even happier in the post game photos!
It was not only hockey that we missed, but more importantly the camaraderie and post game makan
minum (well, at least the ‘minum’ part) that follows after every hockey session. Beverages seem to
taste better when with team mates and friends, don’t you agree?
The renewed energy in the hockey section in the last year or so has been really refreshing and we
look forward to seeing all of our section members at the future Saturday grass hockey sessions at
Kiara Sports Annexe. (Hint: Playing hockey is not a pre-requisite!)
