KLHA Division 4A Results - 7 Oct 2014

We started out this year's league with a 8-3 win over the SUKMA Ladies.

But subsequently lost the 2nd game 2-5 to Kilat Club.

However, we recovered tonight, winning 7-0 against STAROBA despite the tired legs and injured bodies from the exertions over the weekend at the RSC 9s.

4 field goals from Nicky Poon and a goal each from Aiman (we thought it was gonna go out!), Chun How (reverse stick flick slap-hit of some kind) and Colin (penalty corner - we could see the defenders parting like the Red Sea when the stick went up!) saw RSC through comfortably.

The next game is scheduled for 1 November 2013.

RSC 9s - Day 2... It's all about penalty shoot outs

Looks like its a day for penalty shootouts for RSC as both teams had to go through the shoot out in order to proceed to the semis.

Mohan, KC and Dato' Poon stepped up to the challenge for the Hounds.

Mohan missed the goal by a whisker!

KC tried to put the ball over the keeper and was subsequently bundled over, and the goal was awarded to us.

RSC was back!

Poon then put us level and into sudden death!

And Mohan redeemed himself by scoring the winning goal!

Unfortunately, the Hounds could not match the powerful NSHA team lead by former Malaysian skipper and Asian All-Stars, Sarjit Singh, losing 0-1 in the semis of the veterans tournament.

All was not lost, as the junior dogs were still in the game!

The Dogs had a tougher time, drawing 2-2 after the first 3 penalties. It took another 3 penalties to resolve the issue and qualify for the semis in the Bowl Tournament.

Nicky, Alan and Albert did the honors for the Dogs.

The semi game Dogs vs Barkerites from Singapore saw the team putting on a valiant display, limiting the opponents to just half chances near our D, without any real threat to our goal.

Final result was 0-0 and another penalty shootouts. By now our players (Nicky, Albert and Alan) were familiar with the penalty and won 3-2, hence qualifying for the finals.

Our opponents - Licquorice-All-sorts!

Another hard game for the RSC 9s in the finals. It was goalless despite the 5 minutes extra time.

This time our bodies were too tired during the shootouts and lost 0-1. The Dogs finished as runners-up in the Bowl tournament this year.

And of course... We ended the day enjoying the beers!

RSC 9s - Day 2... Here we go!

Sunny Sunday morning and beginning of the knock-out stage of the tournament.

Starting the day with a hearty Malaysian breakfast, ready to face the rigors of the day!

Some teams were already checking out the fixtures and strategizing!

RSC 9s - Day 1... To top it all off!

Dinner was served at 7.30pm followed by the presentation of the tournament shirts to all participating teams, sponsored by Kansai Paint, and presented by Joe Chia, the representative from Kansai Paint.

The crowd was then entertained with a magic show, and they were mesmerized!

Nara was the guest of honor on stage with 2 beautiful ladies and his... pink 'inner wear'?

This was followed by the 'live' chicken curry cooking show performed with the assistance of Joe and his wife.

The real 'magic' was about to begin... starting with the dancers!

Our Sri Lankan guests were very sporting to participate in the 'dancing'!

Next up was Tanjong... The main 'attraction'!

And it would not be complete without participation from our special guests - Kumarakaraoke, Rey and Rocket!

A memorable night for some of the players I'm sure!

Back to hockey tomorrow starting at 10am.

RSC 9s - Day 1... The Dogs and Hounds

The 'young' and 'old' dogs and hounds of RSC!

Both teams ended the day with a win and a draw, with goals coming from Nicky Poon (Penalty stroke) and Charles Lim (Penalty corner) for the Dogs, and Capt Azman for the Hounds.

The Dogs are in the Bowl Tournament, whilst the Hounds's fate depends on the 2 remaining veterans matches tomorrow.

RSC 9s - Day 1... Team colors!

Teams from all over... and colorful outfits!
