RSC 9s - Day 2... It's all about penalty shoot outs

Looks like its a day for penalty shootouts for RSC as both teams had to go through the shoot out in order to proceed to the semis.

Mohan, KC and Dato' Poon stepped up to the challenge for the Hounds.

Mohan missed the goal by a whisker!

KC tried to put the ball over the keeper and was subsequently bundled over, and the goal was awarded to us.

RSC was back!

Poon then put us level and into sudden death!

And Mohan redeemed himself by scoring the winning goal!

Unfortunately, the Hounds could not match the powerful NSHA team lead by former Malaysian skipper and Asian All-Stars, Sarjit Singh, losing 0-1 in the semis of the veterans tournament.

All was not lost, as the junior dogs were still in the game!

The Dogs had a tougher time, drawing 2-2 after the first 3 penalties. It took another 3 penalties to resolve the issue and qualify for the semis in the Bowl Tournament.

Nicky, Alan and Albert did the honors for the Dogs.

The semi game Dogs vs Barkerites from Singapore saw the team putting on a valiant display, limiting the opponents to just half chances near our D, without any real threat to our goal.

Final result was 0-0 and another penalty shootouts. By now our players (Nicky, Albert and Alan) were familiar with the penalty and won 3-2, hence qualifying for the finals.

Our opponents - Licquorice-All-sorts!

Another hard game for the RSC 9s in the finals. It was goalless despite the 5 minutes extra time.

This time our bodies were too tired during the shootouts and lost 0-1. The Dogs finished as runners-up in the Bowl tournament this year.

And of course... We ended the day enjoying the beers!
