The Official Press Conference for the 9th RSC Hockey 9's and 4th RSC Junior Tournaments was held today at The Presidents Room RSC in Dataran. Those present included Club President Mr.Teng Mui Ngee, Sports Chairman Mr. Seenivasagam, Hockey Convenor James Sia, Organising Chairman Oommen Koshy, Calrsberg rep Mr. Ravi and Mr. Benny Lim from UFL. The 4th RSC Junior Tournament will be held this Friday 16th July starting from 2.00pm while the 9th RSC Hockey 9's will take place on Saturday and Sunday ( 17th & 18th July ). Both events will be held at the RSC Kiara Annexe ground.
This years edition will see a record number of 30 teams vying for the George Koshy Cup which Sapura won last year. Sapura will start as favourites this time around but will face stiff competition from newcomers UniKL and Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club. All 3 teams have in their ranks former national players. Among the foreign teams taking part are Tornados ( Vietnam ), ISCI ( Indonesia ), Valley RFC ( Hong Kong ) and Singapore Cricket Club. The Junior Tournament will see 16 boys team and 8 girls respectively.
